Check out these artworks from the new art classes.  Its been a good start to the 2017-2018 year.

Pre IB Art 1 students worked with sharpie marker to create a design with lines and shapes.

AP Art students started out drawing glass bottles with pastels and just finished an assignment using scratchboard.

Juniors did a quick drawing from observation exercise with charcoal.

In Pre IB Art 2 students created paper sculptures with heavy watercolor paper.  Their goal was to use repetition to create unity.

The IB Juniors worked on a self portrait themed "Trapped in the Box".  Students chose their media and most worked from a photograph.

New IB Junior and Senior artwork

IB Juniors

We started the year with an activity I learned at an AP workshop one summer.  Students draw a line portrait of themselves.  Then artwork is then passed around, each student has one type of media that they can add to the picture.

Here are some of the results:

Our second assignment was to paint a mechanical object.

I brought in my camera collection.

I like film cameras.

Some students brought in their own objects.
