IB Senior Show 2014

The show was a success.  It's great to see the students work hanging up and to be able to share all their hard work over the past two years.  Watch the slide show below to see the set up and images from the show.

Polk Schools Fine Arts Festival

This year the festival was in Munn Park in Lakeland. It was a great location that got lots of visitors. Thank you to Mr. Scheloske for coming out to see all the artwork. One of our art students, Pedro, even drove all the way over there. He was a great ambassador for Haines City. All the art teachers thought he was great :)

Central Park Art Festival

The Central Park Art Festival in downtown Winter Haven is this weekend.  You'll find lots of local artists and most are very nice and love meeting students.  I'll be there Saturday afternoon.

If you want extra credit for going:

1. find an artist you like (hopefully it is one whose artwork relates to yours in some way, for IB juniors and seniors)
2. talk to the artist, get a picture with them, ask them about their work, tell them about your work
3. do a page in your IWB about the artist and your conversation with them

If you want this credit to be on third quarter you need to show me your work before March 26.

Senior Art Show 2011

We set up the senior show today.  24 IB seniors took over the 9th grade media center and somehow managed to pull it all together.  Thanks go to Ms. Noel's first hour class for transporting the giant foam core and my first hour Art 1 class for helping carry artwork.  If you can't see the video, here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUa6g-ma7VY

Central Park Art Festival

Remember this next weekend is the Central Park Art Festival.  It's the 19th and 20th in Winter Haven across from the library.  I've gone every year I've been here in Polk county.  You'll see lots of artists from across Florida and have the opportunity to talk to them.  You'll find that most of the artists like to talk with students.  It's always a good thing to see all the different type of work being done and seeing it in person is so much better than on the internet.
