So I've heard that the portfolios have been arriving, if you remember I said that there would not be a score inside. Scores come out at 5am July 8th. Sign on to the following website:
AP Scores
You will need your username and password that you used to sign in and upload your artwork. You will also need your AP number. This is why I told you to write this information down somewhere safe. I don't have your usernames anymore but I do have your AP numbers. Teachers are not able to sign in until the 10th so you all will know before me. Remember that no matter what your score is, if you worked to the best of your ability and gained knowledge and skill then it was a year well spent and I am proud of you!
Have a good rest of your summer. I'll be planning out our junior year in IB Art.

Pre IB Art 1 Self Portraits
We had some amazing self portraits this year. Students worked from a photograph and used the grid method. Each student did the math and determined what grid size to do based on the size of their original picture, and the final size picture they wanted. The size of their artwork and surface they worked on depended on the media they wanted to use. Being able to choose a media and then the correct surface and size are skills they will use in their future art classes when they are working on their independent investigations in IB.

Incoming 9th grade IB - Class of 2017!
Wow, we had a great turn out last night with some great presentations from the teachers. I know its a lot of information so if any of our incoming students are reading this, don't freak out, your teachers will be there to help you through this program :)
If you have any questions about art or any of the other subjects, you can find the teacher's contact information on the Haines City IB website.
Here's the Art presentation from last night:

Polk Schools Fine Arts Festival
This year the festival was in Munn Park in Lakeland. It was a great location that got lots of visitors. Thank you to Mr. Scheloske for coming out to see all the artwork. One of our art students, Pedro, even drove all the way over there. He was a great ambassador for Haines City. All the art teachers thought he was great :)

Art 1 - Radial Design
We tried a brand new project this year in Pre IB Art 1 and I'm so happy with how it turned out. Check out these great radial designs. Students created a stencil which they used to paint the radial designs. This project is definitely a keeper, we will do this one again next year.

Student artwork from October and November
Sorry it's been a long time since I posted. Here is some student artwork from first quarter.
In AP art we drew a still life on top of a painted patterned background.
In Pre IB art 1 students worked with scratchboard to create work that focused on implied texture with animals as the subject matter.
IB juniors created work exploring texture while IB seniors continued work in their independent investigations.
